RECORD CALIFORNIANS QUITTING SMOKING
Since 1989, young adult smokers in California have quit smoking
in record numbers and older smokers are consuming far fewer
cigarettes.
Studies published in the research journal Tobacco Control found
that cessation rates were much higher among young adults ages 20
to 34 in California compared to those of the same age in New York
or New Jersey, which have similar population size and high prices
on tobacco, but no focus on "de-normalizing" smoking.
